I was there all day today-didn't miss them a bit. In fact, I would have been happy to miss all the fool activity so I could see the Nostalgia Pro Stock cars run-which I went to see-as usual NHRA took my money and did not deliver. Cars were at the head of the lanes and ready and then were sent back to their pits because the fool cars ran long.
I hate NHRA

Torrance family does a lot for the t/f class. Like them or not, they are good for the class. Now as for the NHRA?#@*

Yes I miss them a lot. I think they are good for the sport and help a lot of other racers.

Like love him or hate him Steve is a passionate driver. The passion sometimes bubbles up in ways that are unacceptable.

I never liked Dale Bernhardt, but he was great for NASCAR.

NHRA has built it's entire marketing plan around the Torrences, the Kalittas, Schumacher and Force. I wouldn't think that this would be a comfortable situation to be in.

Not the least bit...

That being said, I will acknowledge that they do have their place in the sport/hobby. I think he's doing way more harm to his already blemished image with the vague explanation for their absence though. If what is being said is true about the protest for his punishment, I think it's in poor taste for the other teams to sit out as well if that's the case. I sincerely hope that's not the reason for the absence, and that NHRA doesn't give into them.

I saw ST offer an apology from the podium. Then explain how tough it was for him to stand up there and do it. In an on track interview, CF said he hasn`t spoken to ST since their incident. Somehow, I couldn`t help but think how funny it would look with that cowboy hat pulled down over his ears.

don't take my rant out of context MJ-I drove through 2 hours of LA traffic, paid 63.00 saw one round of stock and when the advertised "50 years of pro stock reunion" cars were set to go-they were set aside for stuff that couldn't interest me less.

I am a life long stock/superstock enthusiast (former competitor a long time ago) and when I dedicate a Saturday off work and spend money for something that is yanked away right as it is about to begin-I am disappointed and pissed. I haven't gone to an No Hot Rods Allowed event at Pomona in over ten years-and won't bother going again. I can sit in my living room and watch fool cars oil the track and hold up the real cars.
I read on this forum some years ago that they are just a mechanical rain delay-and today it was completely true.

Wait, so they had short fields and the "fool cars" still ran long? Must have been an oildown or two. That's okay, those 5 point penalties will really set everyone straight!
