I build quite a few powerglides for racers and this is the same question everyone asks.
In my opinion there is not much difference in the transbrakes from various sellers. The things that make one quicker than the others is the setup to the case/solenoid and the clearances various builders use. My opinion is just buy a brand name pro tree brake and let the builder know if you need it to react quicker. Same thing for the button. Chassis setup is the biggest thing to have the car react quicker. Just my opinion. Rick Cates Canyon, TX |

The Griner brake is no longer made after Steve's passing. Next closest is a copy of his being made and sold my Xtreme Automatics in Ohio. They were one if Steve's largest dealers for many years and began producing them after he passed.
I have one in my Coan 400xlt light weight/low drag th400. |

The Griner was without doubt the quickest and most consistent TH 400 brake on the market .
Sold many of them . hopefully Xtreme will carry on the production.

Isn't the Hipster Brake a Griner design?

Xtreme posted on FB a month or two ago that they are in the process of reproducing the Griner powerglide brake.
