We are trying to set up a S/SS association and would really appreciate any info and guidance from current S/SS associations that can help us along the way. We're really behind the eight ball and starting from scratch, so any and all help is needed.
We have the support of our Div 4 Director and Alamo City Motorplex seems to be very receptive to it. We have around 30 racers who are showing interest and invite any and all current and prospective Class racers. We will be willing to help all new comers in getting started and making sure and working with you to get your cars ready for competition. We will assist all racers with their cars in getting them NHRA legal while still being able to run with us. Any assistance is very appreciated and any racers interested in joining us just contact me and I will try and answer your questions. Thanks R J Sledge |

RJ, Contact Mike Delahanty , Jimmy Ronzello, Charlie Downing and ask them about the Great Lakes Stock/Super Stock Association ( GLSSA ). At the last race there were 69 cars at Milan Dragway. Cars from Michigan, Ohio, and I think from Indiana too. Check it out on Facebook. Luke

You could also contact John McCleod or Bob Sherwood with Midwest Class Racers. MCR typically gets 50-60 cars per weekend and has had several races with car counts over 100 cars per weekend. Great organization. I think Dan Weise does work with them also.

Thanks for the info, I talked to John McLeod and he was a wealth of information, And after talking to him realized it can be a lot of work.
My hats off to everyone who gets involved in managing a S/SS Association and making it work. Thanks again RJ |

From this racers point of view track prep needs to be good for it to be a successful series.
We and other racers always look for any local S/SS association to race with on our trips to and from events. Good luck and we hope to race with you and the new association soon! |

This really needs to be supported.
With all the changes happening S/SS associations may be the last place to class race. Just look at what has taken place during the lifetime of some of us old racers...The old AHRA = Gone, IHRA Class racing = Gone. ( Modified went first, then the rest of the Sportsman classes) NHRA Class Racing ??? Modified has left us back in the 80's & now in 2020 the whole organization is in a mess.
