Battery comparison
How does a XS D1600 or S1600 compare to regular 850-1000 amp 12-volt battery?I see the amps are a lot lower on the 16 volt but it being a 16 volt is it going to give as much cranking power than the 12 volt? Will it have to be charged anymore? I have a super stocker with no alternator. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated thanks jason

Re: Battery comparison
Multiply Volts x Amps to get Watts for a comparison of output for the 12 volt vs 16 volt battery.

I have always run an alternator and wouldn't race without one. Charging is the same as a 12volt. Every electric motor spins faster...starter, water pump and fuel pump. The only down side is 16volt batteries do not have the reserve capacity that 12volt do, they have a history of working and then not without warning and they are heavy, 47lbs. The dragster now runs a lite weight (8 lbs.) 16v lithium battery Last edited by 1320racer; 08-16-2023 at 08:42 AM. |
