I heard that one reason the '68 SS/AH cars have gotten quicker is some recent new rules for those cars.
Can anyone filll me in on what those new rules might be, and how they're being implemented to enhance those cars' performance? Additionally, the '67 RO 23 cars seem to be a bastard engine; competition hemi reciprocating assy. and heads with a street hemi-style intake. Is that true, and how does that intake affect the HP factor (compared with the short cross ram on the earlier cars???) That emgine may have been on the '66 motors, too.... Can't remember. Please excuse my ignorance...

Just put an original 68 car next to a 2010 car and look. And that's just the beginning.

Ed, I'm sure the intake manifolds have changed dramatically, but I am ignorant of what kind of changes these cars enjoy that are not allowed on other "pure" Super Stock cars, if any.
Just curious.... and thanks for any specific information.

There are NO tube front end or rack and pinions on the 68 cars. Stock control arms and steering boxes on the 68's. Dyno

Maybe pro stock cam shafts and Honda bearings, all we need is titanium valves to save some $$$ in the long run.
