BlueOvalralph,
I also think, that Canada was the only country that got 1965 Ford Falcon Sedans with 289/271 HiPo engines. (7 produced) Not K-Code, but #992 Code (Special Order) Top-Loader 4-speed, with 9" Detroit Locker and 4.57 gears. With 8" slicks and a few suspension tweaks, you could get all 4-wheels off the ground, when launching off the line. Damn things ran in B/Stock in 65' I wonder if any got the 306HP Shelby conversion, with the aluminum DP intake, and Holley 715cfm carb, and High Compression pistons. pc PC Last edited by Paul Ceasrine; 07-29-2010 at 08:42 AM. |

Of the seven, I know where some of them went. 3 were made in to B/FX cars, equipped with 4 weber 48IDA carbs, usually heads ported by Crane with Corvette F.I. valves. Most ran the Crane R-292 roller cam with flat top pistons. The B/FX cars: Rankin Ford, London , Ontario, "Wild Child" engine by Gene McCrikkard (sp) at the Hot Rod Shop, Detroit, Mich. (same shop that built Doug Nash Mercury Comet B/FX car. Beatty and Woods, Toronto, Ontario Don Havers "Mr 289" built by Brad Francis and myself 2 of the 271 HP cars were campaigned in B or C stock, one by Louis Rivait from near Windsor, Ontario and another by Bob Jezzico from Woodstock, Ontario. Louis Rivait's car ran extremely well.

70-72 Olds 442 with W43 (hemi, 4 valves per cylinder) either pushrod or DOHC version. ot Rod and HiPerf cars wrote up the engine in July 71. GM Mismanagement killed the engine project.
