I use this Lokar: http://www.jegs.com/i/Lokar/625/1211344/10002/-1

Disconnecting the flexible dipstick tube from the trans and popping in the sealing plug makes changing transmissions a lot easier. The firewall mount eliminates one more juggling act compared to a trans bolt mounted unit, especially when you have limited firewall space. -Al

Lokar. For the top mount I made a bracket with two holes and bolts thru the holes and the heads welded to it, mounted it to the firewall from the inside and pop riveted it from the out side with one rivet. Now you have two studs sticking out and you can fasten the top. Makes it easy to loosen the top when dropping the trans and then you have easier access to remove the tube and put in the plug, and same when installing the trans.

Tried that one first and it wouldn't work on my 4th gen F body. I had success with the Lokar product though.

Get a dipstick out of a late model car. Measure and cut length

Lokar?? $134 for a dipstick?? No wonder it's expensive to race!
As someone else said go to a junkyard and get a stick from a late model RWD GM vehicle. Use your original dipstick and ck fluid level. Cut new dipstick if necessary to length and mark accordingly to match reading. Spend the $128 you saved on enrty fees.

Get a lock-in GM stick and cut it to whatever length you need or cut the 200 stick off and weld it to a GM locking handle
