Everybody make absolutely certain that you know your rights, relative to shooting a ****bag. The laws are not very straightforward, and the good guy, defending his family and stuff, often ends up the bad guy, going to jail for some worthless, malignant, drain on society. It's worth looking the subject up on Google, or better yet, enrolling with one of the companies that provide legal support if you end up in a jam.

If you have to shoot some dirt bag trying to break into your trailer or motor home, don't report it, stuff that POS in a little john and walk away. Or if it happens in Florida or Louisiana just feed the local alligator population. No reason to get the local authorities involved in such petty situations and why put yourself in a position where you need an attorney.
