Take a couple of minutes and look at the SCCA site [Sports Car Club of America] and see what you think. Go to About us and then bylaws and see how it is organized and how the staff is funded. Notice their board of directors is elected by the members and serve for a certain time frame. The board sets policy and the paid staff carries out that policy. Is something like this possible for Drag Racing?

Greg,
I think it can work. You have to develop a core group of racers who will stick together. That's not as difficult as it sounds. All you need is about thirty racers to sign up and then it will grow. It probably would require one full time person to keep it going.

We went to our first Autocross race last year and I studied the SCCA rulebook. WOW !
As a drag racer for nearly 30 years, it was interested to find out how they run their organization. (definetly different) We will be running Auto-cross this year as well as drag racing. ![]() |
