Fun is what I'm after, and trying something different always fits that bill for me. Heck, out of 3 tracks in the entire state, there's only one Divisional race near me, and two out-of-state that are 6 hours pull at least, so I won't be out setting the world on fire or working up to a Pro Stock ride ala Jason Line! Most of the time it'll be raced locally in brackets, but this is something I have always wanted to attempt.

Far as I can tell, there isn't any outside differences from a 78-79?

I have done some digging on slantsix.org for some ideas, a couple of real helpful guys here sent or are sending me some info, and I ordered the Mopar six cylinder engines book (somewhere around here I still have a Mopar Chassis one from around 99-00).

Thanks again everyone. I have raced pretty much everything, and nowhere on a forum or in a group have I found as many helpful and friendly people as on here. BIG kudos!

With Ed Fernandez on board....... and if you can blow the dust off of Billy Nees........ you could probably get the required info to have a pretty decent running slant six......... and maybe even a really fun stocker...... I always liked those things......... LOL

Ed has been a great help, I have Billy's email, and I'm ready to do a TON on studying, before I put a wrench to this thing. That, and I need some more snow to melt...

There is a group that races sl6's at Mopar meets.....google them at slant six racing.

By the way, some of them are running in the 10's at 1/4 mile.

Just dont run one in a high powered H/G 51 Anglia with a 4 speed like I did back in ther early 70's. They like to break the crank right at the flywheel flange. Motor will even stay running, just wont move the car. Thats why I changed over to a 300 Ford 6 after 3 of those breaking. I doubt it would be a problem in an automatic stocker.
