We haven't been to Topeka in 7-8 years. So how have things changed there? Do you still come in thru the tunnel? Do they still have those great curly potatoes? How about the Topeka Steakhouse? Is it still the best place to eat? We plan on leaving here tomorrow afternoon and arriving there sometime on Thursday.
See ya there! Patsy & Larry |

Patsy and Larry,
You still come in through the tunnel. I think you will find the new sportsman parking area an improvement (especially if it rains). I think the topeka steak house is a memory if we are thinking about the same place. Look forward to seeing you there. Mike |

One of the best places to eat would be @ Pat's Pig! Great BBQ food and only a few miles from the track. Everything is much nicer too. As Mike said, the sportsman pit area is all blacktop now. The only downfall to that is that it gets so hot and it's a long way to the staging lanes. They also have a nice restroom/shower area for all the racers.
Looks like it should be great weather there this weekend! We'll see you there. Rose Racing Brad Rose S/St 5032 Chuck Rose S/G 58 |

The track was renovated a few years ago. You'll be impressed from the last time you were there.

Larry and Patsy, Here's a supporting vote for "Pat's Pig." A restaurant has to be memorable when I can remember the name ten minutes after walking out the door. Had dinner there one evening in 1999 with Rob Youngblood and Bill Rink. I'm still laughing! Good luck, c |

Of course, you have to go to STEAK 'N' SHAKE once when in Topeka.

I have eaten at many restrauants in Topeka, the best I have found is the Texas Roadhouse. By far the best steak I have found. Pats Pig is tasty, but check with your heart doc first. I have went to the Texas Roadhouse the last 2 or 3 years, and its great. I won't be racing this yearthere, just being a professional pit crew.

Larry, Pat's pig is a great stop for dinner and they love racers! I travel a lot for work and I like Steak and Shake Tex Roadhouse, but come on, that stuff is in every town over 10,000. Pat's pig is local fare!
