I think Cal Method's car is now owned by TimWeinzapful in Div 3. It sure is nice to see him put it back where it belongs with a stick. He absolutely Crushed the R stick record with it last fall. That car has been fast for many years with an automatic, but Tim stuck to his guns to put the stick in and has done very well with it. It hasn't been easy. First time he dropped the hammer in it with a stick, he rotatated the housing when the welds broke!

That's a pretty rare picture of John Barkley's and Tony Janes' 1960 V/SA. Having that car with Cal's '61 wagon in the background pretty much establishes the time frame. Also, you had to have been there to appreciate that shot of the old configuration of the grandstands at Pomona in the days before the drive-thru gate.

Geeez, ya learn something new every day! One of those pics is the black "Catch 22" 67 Camaro, which was a local C/SM as I remembered, although it is in H/MP in the photo (6 cyl. class). Even more suprising was that another local racer, Keith Winterbottom`s name is on the door. I`ve know Keith for over 20 years, and was unaware that he drove the Camaro, but a quick phone call confirmed that they ran the car with a 6 cylinder briefly in 79 or 80.By the way, Keith is still racing the same 70 Maverick today, that he ran in H/MP back in the 70`s. Still a Weber carbed Ford 6, with a Nash 5 speed and CragerSuper Tricks. He runs it in our local stickshift group, and the car is virtually identical as 35 years ago!!Some great photos there.
