Did anyone see the results from the BIG $$$$ race at Bristol on Saturday ??
In the FINAL one car one car was dialed 6.88 and the other 5.80. The 6.88 car breaks on the line and has a .988 reaction time and is going nowhere. The 5.80 car REDLIGHTS -.005 to LOSE THE BIG $$$$.. ......What a way to LOSE A BIG $$$$$$$$$ race ! |

The 5.80 car was most likely crossing and given the 1 second spread he probably didn't have any other options he'd let go on the slower cars top bulb. I'm not much up on all the box stuff but I do know there are setups that allow you to hit the button again and add time or something to that effect. That being said I'd say the guy did a great job if he made it to the finals , from what I hear you'd better have your game on at those big money races. So nice job fella!! Joe

![]() There was no crossing over. This was a Footbrake race. A lot of Footbrakers block the tree. With a 1-second spot and the level of concentration necessary at this level... I chased a couple of cars this weekend... I'm staring at my bottom bulb and nothing else. You may realize something as an afterthought, but in the moment, I can understand how it could happen. It's just one of those things. FYI, Alford ran out of gas on the starting line.

Sorry I didn't know this was a footbrake race. Either way I still say the guy did a heck of a job and should be very proud. Joe

I heard they were going to REQUIRE delay boxes next year to loosen up the packages!
![]() ![]() ![]() They had to replace the printer in the timeslip booth because it ran out of zeros. Just on Friday alone, I was double-entered and was .012, .009, .016, .014, .011, .009, .001, .025, .013..... and IN THE WAY. It was ridiculous. Still a good time and great to be a part of, but it was amazing to hear some world-class drivers saying things like, "I used to think I was a pretty fair driver". Just a couple of examples.... In the Shootout, Doyle Kay is .000 and takes .005 stripe for the L. One pair, the announcer says, "They're both dead late... they're .015 and .017..." ![]()
