Post Adam-12 street racing episode

A member on moparts.com found and posted this. Thought it might be interesting and, if real, maybe someone can ID the track shown at the end. It has a hanging christmas tree.

I'm sure thats Lions and a young Dick Clark as the drag strip owner. An interesting note on the credits the story editor is Stephen Cannell who produced a quite a few hits show later on.

As a kid I watched that show every day, was a great program in its day but I never remember seeing that
episode what a cool video. This series was big on the West coast I wonder if it also aired on the East coast
and was as popular? Too cool.

Kind of funny the Christmas tree had two yellow lights. That was in the day of 5-light trees.

Lions Drag Strip seldom marched to the sound of the same drummer as everyone else. From about 1965 until just before it closed, Lions was sanctioned by AHRA. As I recall, about the only time they had a 5 amber tree was when they ran an NHRA event. I remember an NHRA divisional there in July of 1972 and, in the last days, the final event before the track closed featured an NHRA eliminator show. C.J. Hart managed the track in the later years.
