upon arriving at indy roy dean discovered a weld broken on my frame / rear upper control arm. while i had secured a welder close by through longtime friend darryl stieger i want around asking if anyone at the track had a welder... redman suggested i try the track equipment barn. i was respectfully treated and was allowed to have a competent welder (roy;s son) use thier equipment to repair my car. they would not accept payment of any kind (offered cash, dinner, lapdance at dancers) only a hearty good luck and a handshake...

i know i cuss NHRA a lot and they own this track...but i thought you guys should know that at least the IRP people know how to treat customers... maybe they could replace tom compton with him

i sure hope this "attaboy" doesnt get anyone in trouble

p.s we missed both morning sessions and q'd #131 but are now in due to explosions & barn fiasco's... not how id have like it but in is in ... and if we'd got an AM shot im sure roy would have been 1.07 under.... and another note roy will be the featured flyer for indy !!! (damn they dont like me 28 years no feature... roy 1 race hes in

Make sure Roy puts out of his memory that red Mercury of Gary Long.
