New rules for Maple Grove Raceway competitors

Harry...Not all of us have crew or cars with extra room to haul stuff to the lanes and if you race divisionals or nats at all, you know sometimes you have down time in the lanes and don't have time to hoof it back and forth if you need something. They do come in handy quite often.

Bummer I didn't get to "dude bash" over the weekend, I was too busy racing at Atco and if you saw where they parked us, you would understand the need for pit vehicles but I believe the majority agrees with me about needing them anyway so I'm not going to waste my energy on proving something to this dude that I and a lot of other people know is vital to a team.
And yes, I always check my tires before I leave the trailer but have you ever set the tires to the perfect spot, you're 3 pair from being out and oooops oil down. Now the sun is going down and so is the tire pressure. I know with my car 0.25 psi is the difference between a good light and a bad light. It's super annoying but it's something that happens and these days I don't want to leave the air tank unattended on the scooter, too many sticky fingers out there wanting a souvenir.

Seriously, I think the rules are a bit excessive. I would guess maybe it has something to do with insurance regulations. Still, I think it's a bit much.

Wouldn't it be easier to ask the police to look away for the weekend? I mean how much trouble does it really cause a handful of weekends per year? I haven't been to Maple Grove for a while, but I hardly believe it is a hazard for unlicensed vehicles to cross a two lane highway. I could see if they were trying to cross the PA turnpike, but not one of the country roads near Maple Grove.

What if I had an amish horse and buggy and wanted to cross that road? There is no license on them.


Where I come from, riding four wheelers, UTV's, etc. on and across public roads is the norm, not the exception.

If track owners and operators truly want to grow the sport, dreaming up these rules certainly won't help that out one bit. I think they are listening to the ambulance chasers too much and forgetting who their customers are.

In Lex and Maple Groves defense I can see why that rule was put into affect. I mean say someone crosses over the highway to go to the bar, have a few too many drinks and hops back onto their scooter, atv, golf cart. Not really sure if people who have never been to Maple Grove know where the Bar is located but, it's right near the hill on Gate 4 and it can be a very very blind spot for some drivers. Say someone blows through the cross-over and gets nailed...#1 there is no protection for the golf cart driver and he's prob going to be toast. #2 you have the driver of the car that hit the cart who could cause damage to the property and maybe injure themselves and could sue Maple Grove cause I think the Lewis family owns all that property from the track out the the park which is a wide area. So then it puts a bad name on Maple Grove Park and Racetrack cause someone gets killed on that road riding a golf cart drunk.

You can't pick the dates you can and will allow golf carts to be ridden along the road. Maple Grove races from March/April till the end of October. You can't say on these dates you can ride your golf cart across the street cause the police are not looking but these dates you have to put them away. Trust me someone will try to bend the rules and even with the new rules into affect I think Lex and his crew and going to have to play babysitters to some people.

They did this back in the 70`s and 80`s at E-Town.

How old are we? If your old enough to drink, than you're old enough to take the responsibility for your actions.

We should be adults
So as adults we make choices
If we go across the road drunk we suffer what happens
It really is that simple
If we smoke we pay
If we over drink we pay
If we are over weight we pay
We make choices and if they arent right we pay
We pay tracks so we can race it isnt up to them to police what we do off their property
If their bar serves to much and they own it police the bar
It seems very simple
Dont take away carts from the 95% that are legal....
