www.racingforcancer.com and Pacemaker's Dragway Park are pleased to announce the date for our next Racing For Cancer Race. Mark your calendar for Saturday, May 29th, 2010 and plan on heading over to Mt. Vernon, Ohio and joining us for some racing fun, some great payouts and most importantly.....raising money for cancer research. This past summer we had two Super Street races and with the help of the Jeg's family and Pacemaker's Dragway, we were able to donate over $5000.00 to the James Cancer Hospital at the Ohio State University. On top of that we helped two cancer patients with donations to their respective families to help offset medical costs.
We are not sure just yet on what the racing format will be and would like some help from some of the racers on this forum and those who attended our races this year. If we can get the financial support to back us we are thinking about a $10,000.00 to win bracket race with a $100.00 entry and at least a first round buy back. Also, might try to throw together a gambler's race on Friday night for those of you who want to hit the track early and get some time runs in. We have also been asked by various Super Gas and Super Comp racers to bring them in with the Super Street racers and make it an all .90 show!! Don't want to get any longer winded than I already have.....mark your calendars for the 29th of May and plan on being there. Any comments on the racing format would be appreciated. Please remember, we are making this effort to raise money to fight cancer!! Thanks and Happy Holidays from the Butcher Racing Family!! |

Can't believe we are talking a $10,000 to win bracket race for raising money for cancer research and we haven't had any comments from anyone yet?? C'mon guys and gals, give us some feedback on whether or not this sounds inviting enough for us to continue in this direction and try to put this race on next May or should we do something else.
Looking to add a test-n-tune session on Friday night with a sponsored race of $1000 to win by one of our local businesses here in the Mt. Vernon area. Pretty sure that Kil-Kare has one of their $5000 to win racing weekends that same weekend, so join us on Friday and Saturday and then tow down there for a couple of $5000 to win races on Sunday and Monday (Memorial Day). Sounds like a great weekend of racing to me!! Let us know what you think, thanks!! |

Sounds like a great idea Joe but, there's one of our larger Lucas Oil races in D-1 that weekend at Maple Grove.... may or may not hurt the car count.
....Just an FYI. Good luck w/ your event. -Don |

Jim, count us in. $100 entry for $10Gs. We race divisionals for more entry and MUCH less payout than that. Sounds like a no brainer and for a great cause.

Nitro Joe:
Ultimately would be Mike Fouts' call on the Stock/Super Stock race. I am just looking to do the bracket race for the RacingForCancer fund. Would definitely welcome the group to this event and would look forward to working with you. Give me a call sometime (614-207-6705) after you talk with Mike. Thanks for the input!! |

I think the idea of the race is a good idea, though I think you should either move it up a week to May 22nd so that it doesn't conflict with the D-1 LODRS race at Maple Grove, or maybe move it back to June 19th (though that is the same weekend as the Bristol National Event).
That said, you may not actually lose that many cars if you do run it on the 29th, as it seems to me that not many Div. 3 cars venture east for the D-1 LODRS events, and not many Div. 3 cars venture west for races in D-3. There are some of us (like myself) that are in-between the two that would need to make a choice, but quite frankly there's not many of us. Regardless, I hope the event is a success, and that you raise a lot of money for a great cause.
