So, wouldn't the "major sponsor" get top billing on the car?

Yes of course, didnt have them when I ran this thread. That came right after.
We were going to follow Dic's suggestion and name it "Evolution" with some cool wrap work of a timeline pics of old to new hemi stuff and cars. I didnt say it was a "Major Sponsor" did I ? I said "Our Main , maybe I said Major, I meant major for us, not in the Scheme of things..", I think I called them a "Title Sponsor" Not like Coke or Pepsi is sponsoring us, someone few people have heard of hence it makes sense for them to have their name on something that is running their system. They also get to name the car.....I get "first right of refusal" on a name or a graphics scheme, but thats it....they "Own the look and name of the car" Thats what I meant by "we sold our soul" |

I thought you do all the mechanicals and make sure you have a car that will get from point A to point B before you worry about making it pretty.

As of Saturday it will be less FI wiring, leaving Sunday for that, engine goes back in tommorow headers on, the only other items are fasten the DZus fastners to the hood and make mounts for the computer systems, Ill be doing that at their shop while theyre wiring the ECU, Trans and car next week. Then testing of course, well Ill have to pull the converter and swap it before testing were running a very low stall converter so we can map the entire range, so with our ramp rate she runs up the ladder nice and smooth, no plug fouling...none of that hackle and cough crap because someone dosent know how to or want to tune their entire rpm range..... hard to do even on a load brake hub dyno with a 5000 stall converter.....But....errrr.....yeah other than that....yeah........
All the completion pics will be taken Saturday.....The old man is flying back in then and I want to get pics of him with the car.....\ But NO that wasnt what I was saying , what I was saying was Its no longer MY problem, its theirs. THEY are now "carrying the ball" on the Graphics and Name and such....hence its something I dont have to worry about... |

The 60's and 70's were certainly the heyday of "named" or "themed" race cars. Although none of my own cars were ever named, I was always intrigued by "Smokestack Lightning" as a race car name, which is a blues song written by Howlin' Wolf, and the most popular recorded version was done by the Yardbirds on their "Five Live Yardbirds" album.
I also liked "Psychotic Reaction" by the Count 5. However, Jim Kramer from PA owns a survivor SS/AA Cuda with this name still on it. I believe Bob Harrop was one of the original owners of this car, which also retains the original psychedelic paint scheme! Bill Rolik 1514 SS |
