Congrads on your trip to the track. 13 hour day for 1 pass, and wed do it all over every day. Better get use to that at a NHRA event we have all been there for no runs for days. The megasquirt is it 3 version? Have some friends using the megasquirt stuff with turbos and NOS been going to try it have not yet new car have bigger fish to fry before I get to that. Oh yeah What did it run? and did you anounce who your drive was yet? When is your first race?

Its an MS2 with some trick code and aux inputs/outputs, all legal.
But the MS3 isnt available yet, when it is it will go in the car, there are only I think 3 handbuilt MS3 prototypes on the planet, but sice all the connections were , we just had to run a seperate box for the COP with the MS2, the MS3 its all part of it. And the MS3 isnt on the accepted products list, the MS2 is, an MS2 can do all the things an MS3 can if youre willing to do all the legwork, the MS3 just does it out of the box as it were, we took the long road, but bam does she run good. Nope, didnt announce the driver , they were only good through Gainesville, but now Gainesville is looking sketchy for them, they have work related issues we are aware of and well....well see.....otherwise after they get that squared away they will be on and off, I and the old man are going to drive more than previousy expected. We are also probably going to have a div champ friend of his drive for us which reminds me I have to call him..... The old man is quick...my choice would be to have him get used to the car and drive and I can ONLY concentrate on keeping it running prime. As long as one of us grades up, but I cannot see doing both, driving and worrying about the car, 1 will suffer.....so I think since I enjoy it and the old man is quicker, he drives it and blows it up, I put it back together sounds like a plan. Im going to us a Microsquirt I think with 2 batch in jection and wasted spark on my 5.7 for my 72 Challenger, cheap, easy....and when the MS3 does get released, probably in Junish ? Ill upgrade to that. Quote:

Depends on your camshaft selection and the amount of boost, you may want to get rid of the wasted spark. If there is any unburnt fuel left in the chamber when the exhaust valve opens as the waste spark fires, it'll look like someone took a cutting torch to the exhaust valves. Don't ask me how I know..... To play it safe, get yourself some 6.1 coil packs, 6.1 coil pack plug ends and 6.1 valve covers. Cut the 5.7 coil pack plug ends off and wire in the 6.1's and you'll be good to go. |

![]() ![]() Im only going to run a few pounds, plus Im running E-85 in it.....I want some really loud fans ![]() That and the 6 speed should make for a fun ride.....just gotta decided on a color to paint it, I was thinking Panter Pink with a "Mod Top".....takes a man with stones to drive a pink car... But I have a complete new black interior so, the mod tops look best with white... I was thinking of using the material that is like mod top but more paisley from a 70 Imperial for the roof, be different ![]() |

I've been using the Megasquirt stuff in a 53 Stude/500 Cad bracket car for about four years. Easy to build and works great. The Megasquirt stuff is cheap, the rest of the required stuff to convert to efi,not so much.

With dual plugs and coil packs do the 6.1 do they fire at the same time or different times to have a longer spark timing? Also what after market system are being used to work on ignition side of electrical system?
