Would like to flat tow a Ford Escort (auto trans) behind a motorhome. Can this safely be done without torching the transmission? I know that certain makes and models are ok with this, what about an Escort?
Thanks in advance........... |

With the automatic you have to get an aftermarket pump to circulate transmission fluid through the trasmission when you are towing. More information on the lube pumps are found here:
http://www.remcotowing.com/lube_pump.php You can order them through camping world or maybe other online sources. Call remco and find out what pump you need. When you're set up,you just have to connect the car with the tow bars, plug it in, keep the ignition on run so the steering wheel is not locked, and gear selection lever in Neutral. I also used magnetic tow lights on that car but you can wire in the factory brake and turn lights also. |

Is there a link that provides which vehicles can be towed without using the pumps to circulate the trans fluid?
