Default If You Could go Back In Time, and Design One Performance Car.

If you could go back into the 60's or early 70's and make your own changes or design "ONE" performance car.
Either a Super/Stock Package or Musclecar.
What would it be?
Paul

The 6-pack '68 'Cuda with fiberglass lift-off hood and fenders like the Race Hemi car.

340 6-pack in a Demon as well.

That one was done in 1971 Jared.

Mr. Norm's Grand Spaulding Dodge built a run of just over 60.
Used the aftermarket "Tri-Power" aluminum oval air cleaners.

Funny thing about time -- things have gone full circle - in the late 60's I raced a 57 Bel Air with Fuel Injection and now its F bodies - again with Fuel Injection .I'd love to go back to the Bel Air's once again .................

I bet those were cool little cars. I assume they're not legal for Stock or SS? When I put that in my previous post, it was with the thought of making a class car out of it.

Jack I don't go back that far, I thought Bel Air was a place?

For me it would be a 1969-70 Boss 429 Mustang with these changes, two 780 carbs on a high rise intake. Factory headers and a .600 solid lifter cam. An auto trans, 3500 stall converter and a 4.30 gear.

The Boss was so detuned, it turned out to be just another mid to high 13's car. With these goodies it would have easily run mid 11's with a good tire.

*A redesigned 64 - 64 Chevelle with rear leaf springs and factory traction bars like Cal-Tracs
*Enough rear wheel tub for a 10.5 x 30 tire
*body sealer delete option
*rear seat delete option
*12 bolt rear with HD 35 spline axles and factory, over the counter spool option
*four bolt retainer for axles and 5.13 pro gear option
*383 small block with 2.02 x 1.6 angle plug heads and 60 cc chambers
*solid lifter cam with .540 net lift
*1.460 valve springs
*roller rockers
*tall aluminum valve covers
*Factory tubular headers with exhaust system delete option
*single plane, tall, large volume intake
*780 Holley
*Aluminum hood with small, forward facing scoop
*Aluminum ft fender
*Aluminum ft bumper and hardware
*light weight bucket seats
*High Performance electronic ignition
*undersized crankshaft pulley with oversize water pump and alternator pulley
*any trans option
*factor Hurst Race shifter for chosen trans option

I could go one but this would be a good platform to work with

Yep...I remember the ads in the old magazines...if I am correct, you could buy one for around $3200.00 + brand new.
