SB Mopar Valve springs?

Looking for a good valve spring for a 340 stocker motor. This is for a stock type lifter, not Schubeck/Smith.

Isky 3105 (I think) 1.47 od set up @ 165 lb at 1.68......may need to shim again after 100 passes. If you need more info

I have used the Howards 98215 "Zero Tolerance 1.25 Drop in springs, they have good pressures, and there a small diameter Chevy spring that give lots of rocker arm clearance.

hi, the comp cams, 926 -16 is a tough spring, fits great in a 340. has a high spring rate.

I have used the Isky 3105 in the past, I got them from Don Studley. He used to coat them. They seem ok, but I'm looking for a little bit more pressure, Isky catalog put them at #130@1.700 and #320@1.200. I miss talking with Don, he was a nice man.

Old Racer,
I have been using the Comp 926, but I put a new set in at the beginning of the season, set them up the same as the last ones and they must be junk, lost a good 500-700 finish line rpm from the old springs. Unfortunately I didn't test them before I put them in. I wonder if anyone else has had a problem with this spring?

Did you have to machine the spring seats to get the Chevy spring to fit?

No machining, just shimed the bottom step level. These springs last well and have a low height set up. You can get about any pressure you would like.

Many small block Chevys are using this spring with success in Stock.

At the time I was using these I had a longer than stock valve, I'm not sure how the heights will work out with stock length valves.

Comp #926-16 are the ones you want. They take a licking and keep on ticking! They are long lasting and dependable. Jim

The best spring for a small block mopar is the Comp 904. If the pressure is below 200lbs on the seat, they need to changed. I like around 230 seat with 475 open is good. You really need a pair of Smith lifter's for a mopar so no cam wipes. Lifters are cheap compare to cost of clean up!

I also like the Howards 98215 "Zero Tolerance 1.25 Drop in springs. They allow enough coil bind clearance to set the seat pressure almost anywhere you would like to run it.
