How to set up a "stock type". '68-'72 GM "A" body rear suspension, to take the abuses of low 10.- to high 9.- sec. 3500 lb. drag race car?
Have you been there, done that? I am having issues with "stock" frame, connecting points, "moving (not broke yet) around.... Tell me about bracing, or anything, short of putting in a complete ladder bar suspension...... I have the factory upper to lower control arm braces. Control arms (upper, and lower) are all adjustable (lowers have "relocation brackets", at the rear). All ends are "Himes type" except the uppers at the rear, are poly... Detailed, pictures would be great.... TIA Last edited by rallye bob; 10-11-2010 at 09:22 AM. |

Bob: H&R Parts 'n' Stuff offers a bracket that reinforces the front lower control arm mounting point. I presume you have a reinforcement bar that joins the front lower control arm to the front upper control arm. I have found that bar to be very important. I had one that was slotted (Edelbrock) and noticed that there was movement in it due to the slots. Needless to say I replaced it with a non-slotted brace from Dick Miller.

I am running the stock (stamped steel) reinforcement brkt. that ties the uppers, and lowers, together. I may go to a tubular (adjustable) unit..... I will check out the H&R Parts 'n' Stuff bracket. I am running their bolt on anti-roll bar, and love it.... |
