Default dp engines

Does anyone know if the engines in the dodges are available in anything but the dp cars? Does the horsepower come from there crate motors? Wouldn't it be easy for NHRA to check the hp by running the cars as delivered? That would give them a more realistic factor. Just my thoughts. Jerry

The dp is a race only, the factory dose not build them. Engines in the showroom cars are different.

You know, that ain't a bad idea. I happen to have all the motors complete. I might just run them just to see 'out the box'. I think the difference between a factory motor and a prepped stock eliminator motor is more than most people think. If you think about it, a 396/375 Chev now makes 575-600-more. Interesting.

As much fun as that would be, I'd at MINIMUM take the pan off for an inspection first.

Don't want you to end up with nothing but a pile of DP parts! haha

We would check bearings etc. Install the right oil filter on the hemi's etc. Just no change to the cam, heads, injectors, fuel rails. One of them has actually been dyno'ed (360) so I will just run that one. The others we will check. This won't happen overnight, but stay tuned.

Other than the fuel rails mine is still stock... I did change the rods but that won't effect them...
