Phil saying Toby smells like the Troll that is harsh. He was just pointing out it was wrong and did not bring it up until Chris's story came out. What happen in Medford was policed by the racers that brought it up there at the track to Chris and said it was not right at that point they did not show for the first round because they saw it was not right. Is Toby wearing his Wagons of Steel tee shirt today at the Finals. The same can be said about the Seattle incident it was brought up by the racers it was wrong and was delt with by tech the people that brought it up to tech have no problem telling they were the ones who pointed it out. I was at both of these races and I think it all worked itself out in the end. Chris is a stand up guy and taking his lumps know. Lessons learned you can learn from others mistakes.

They made AVS's for 440's in 1973??? Stumped me on that one, I though it was Thermoquads, the occasional Quadra-Jet, but AVS?

Jeff you are correct, the 440 AVS was 68-71 only. 383 AVS was 68-69 all, and 70 Low performance models. 340 AVS was 68-70. No such thing as a 1973 AVS. |

The point I was trying to make was that all the 750 AVS has much bigger throttle blades 1 11/16 on all corners than the older 525 AFB. It is also much different and easily told apart from an AFB. You can buy a 2010 AVS brand New from Edelbrock today. I was quoting the article and what it stated verbatim ...not stating that it was accurate or not. I have a collection of over 300 Carter AVS AFB and Thermoquads......If anybody needs a particular # measured for size I would be happy to help. Sorry for any confusion created.

Fellow Stock racers, please accept my sincerest apology in this matter. Chris and myself in no way meant any disrespect to Stock Eliminator. We had no intentions whatsoever to run our car in competition. After putting in the new motor we were plagued with gremlins. The carb only being a small part of the total picture, all of the problems have been resolved. We love Stock and would like to put this unfortunate incident behind us and look forward to a better 2011 season. Happy Holidays
