Sorry, don't buy it. The NHRA regulars didn't come when IHRA was at its height and teardowns were more regular, either. The people that come over and race in IHRA generally enjoy themselves. Those that don't simply don't WANT to, for whatever reason. That's their decision, their loss. Enough blowing smoke.
Sorry Mr. Beard, I guess I did not make myself clear. You are correct that IHRA regulars make it through IHRA teardowns with no problem.

However over the years, three of the IHRA champions did NOT make it through NHRA checks and/or teardowns. The following are the facts;

S/S racer #1 who is a multi time IHRA event winner was caught at a NHRA race with a hidden delay box in use in his car.

S/S racer #2 who is a multi time IHRA event winner was DQ'd not once but two years in a row in NHRA teardowns with flagrant illegal engine modifications.

Stock racer #3 who is a multi time IHRA event winner was DQ'd from a NHRA event when it was discovered in teardown that he was using a disguised aftermarket intake manifold.

All three were not only disqualified but were given stiff time off penalties of varying lengths. Giving these individuals the benefit of the doubt for your sake Mr Beard, maybe these racers only used seriously illegal modifications at NHRA races. But it sure does make one wonder, doesn't it?

As well they should. Got problems with individuals? That's fine. Direct your ire at them. You made some pretty broad assertions in your previous post.

Super Sport, you start throwing strong statements around perhaps you need to use your real name....

Looking at your post history shows more of the same...

I know of all three cars you mention. I caught one of these clowns about 11 or 12 years ago myself. The other 2 cars are owned by the same individual but had another driver in the seat. The best way to stop it is to ban them for life or just hang them for what they were caught doing. Sometimes the higher ups wont let you do that. Blame the system.....Not the tech crew. Its called "Politics" ! Using these two idiots who own the 3 cars as an example for this post is grasping at straws to make NHRA look like they can walk on water. This is NOT the case. How many NHRA cars have been caught over the years and the racers are still at it ? A lot of this crap is swept under the rug. A few that I know of but wont mention by name as I get the inside info from time to time and dont want to lose my conections.

There is a TOC race at Pitt. later in the year. The NitroJam is being run as a pro only show with a bracket race involved. By the time the Pro parking is established and the Spectator area is done, there will most likely actually hopefully not be much room left. This has nothing to do (in my opinion) with not wanting class racers involved at an IHRA race. Hope everyone shows up for the TOC race later in the year and thanks for the support.

If that is true use your real name and post the drivers names. If not go back to sleep and let the grown ups talk.

If you want you can alwasys come to an IHRA race with a pocket full of protest money.

Marc... you are wrong.... their is plenty of room at Pittsburgh, the pits have been only half full for each of the past points meets.

Also, we'll be at the TOC qualifier.... but it pays 1/3 of what the nitro jam pays....

It's selfish for me because it's my closest track (ihra or nhra)

Talking Re: thanks IHRA nitro jam --- no stock/ss at several races!

I recently called the IHRA and spoke to someone with respect and received a half hour detailed explanation as to why there will be no class cars @ the Pitts nitro jam. I understand fully why it was done and look forward to the other races. If racers are unhappy with the events, do not always blame the sanctions, look @ the racers next to you an ask why aren't they attending these races, keeping the car counts up and so on (every racer has Bulls@#$ excuses). So many times racers make judgements about IHRA without knowing all of the facts.

I've got a better idea. You few continue to run the IHRA races. The majority will run the NHRA races. We'll let the tech guys decide who needs to go to teardown.
