You guys selling them?

Somebody that had never kicked a rod out may have a hard time wanting one.

That's too bad. Horrible fortune. I wouldn't want that to happen to anybody. That being said, it doesn't happen that often, as a whole. Maybe a few years more experience and that wouldn't have happened to her. I'm just saying maybe more than the lack of a diaper set that ball in motion. We have, unfortunately, layed many blocks to rest over the years, and have never had a problem with oiling the tires. Like I said, I believe experience plays a key role in how severe some wrecks are. Not all, some.

Just my 2 cents...

Ed - I was just joking... for some odd reason that vison from the old cartoons popped into my mind.

A while back I had a crank break in the traps at Virgina (along with everything else in the motor). It happened very quickly and without any forwarning. Fortunately the oil went right out the bottom and I never lost control of the car. But it did scare the crap out of me.

I know things like this are not only an expense but an inconvenience as well.... I'm not thrilled at all about it.... but I believe it is better to be safe than sorry. I don't think it should be a reason for anyone to quit. You don't want to let something like this ruin an otherwise good time.

Several years ago a man was pumping gas one cold day. He put the nozzle in the tank and then sit in the car to keep warm. When the tank was full, he got out of the car and when touched the hose, it caught on fire. He created static electricity when he slid across the seat. Should we all be required to wear nomex at the gas pump?

A lady in in the pits at a national event is killed by a tire off a top fuel car. Are they now required wheel retention?

Nhra claims they will buy more trucks, sweepers and support equipment to clean the track faster for less down time. If the diaper is a failsafe, why do they need more equipment?

I have a DRE diaper on my 67 Camaro SS/EA. The draglink runs though the oil pan and I have no problems with interference. It is so easy to change oil. It may take a minute or two longer to change. I like the rule that they are going to apply. It is all about safety. It is not worth crashing a $100K racecar when you can buy a diaper for $170.

It will cost me a least $1500 to do this my headers just about touch the oil pan and the centerlink just touchs the lower part of the front of the oil pan not to mention the times that the car goes in the air and just skims the race track it will tear the diaper apart .i like maple grove but i dont have to race there
