Could you imagine the mayhem, uproar, and general upheavel if Super Stock and Stock raced off the national records instead of todays format? I well remember the days, the 60s', when it was done that way. Days when guys bombed the national record and it cost various classes heavily. Wonder if the sandbaggin' and doggin' it of todays new-gen cars would cease. Just thinking and not suggesting.

I prefer it the way it was. May not work now with all the money at stake but when you raced for trophys and that national record was way more fun. Money can ruin anything. Also we used to be the fan favorites.

I vote for the way it is now. Stock today is a bracket race with a few exceptions. It is also not a performance based eliminator, even though some of you think it is. The index system is much fairer than national records. One last statement, stock is the biggest pain in the *** that NHRA has in its eliminator system. Time for a few more liberal rules in stock eliminator.

Not being a fan of bracket racing, I prefer the way it was. You don't have to know anything now to be fast enough.

Run off records eliminates everyone except the diehard class racers and I'm afraid there just isn't that many of us left,or am I wrong about that?

More liberal rules for Stock Eliminator?
I guess people won't be satisfied until they change Stock Eliminator completely, so there is nothing left of what it once was. They won't be satisfied then, either. They'll be pissed off, wondering where the class went. ![]()
