That was planned with a blower, but nixed by the regulators.

Only the Fords get blowers. This is Louisiana Revised Statues 47:308 (g), which states 'No Blown Cars can exist without the written approval of FoMoCo'. 48:987 (f) also states 'Anyone with a blown motor in Commercial Alligator Vessel shall have written approval from both FoMoCo and Louisiana Wildlife & Fisheries'. However there is a possible DP being tested now. It is a multiuse vehicle/vessel with four (4) 392 Hemi engines in high compression DP trim with 62" 4 blade propellers (for steering) and has 4 tires through the hull which can handle 14" wide X 33 Tall slicks, or 12" sand drag tires. I got pictures, but I don't know how to download them to this board. Anyone help?

When I was younger, the county maintained the air raid sirens. They had an air raid siren test at 10.00 AM on the last Friday of the month. The air raid siren consisted of a large air horn attaached to a blower that was turned by- get this- an early iron Chrysler Hemi- a 331 or a 354. They had a governor that let the engine idle, then pulled it up to about 3000 or 3500 against the siren, then closed the throttle and let it coast down, only to repeat the process. When I worked for Los Angeles County Mechanical Department from 1980-86, we still had a few of those siren assemblies around, and they were still tested monthly. They looked just like the red blower assembly in the photo. In fact, that's what made me think of them. Wonder what happened to all the hemi parts?

Mopar Action magazine had an article on the Hemi-powered air-raid sirens a couple of years back.
