My thoughts and prayers are with all in the hurricane's path. It looks like it will be a tropical storm by the time it hits the Boston area. Ed F - It looks like a direct hit on you. Good luck!

Received a ton of rain here in Wake Forest and still coming down. Wind has gusted to mid 40,s. Lost a maple tree in backyard . Missed the race car trailer by only 4 ft. The guys down east were pounded and severe flooding. What's amazing is they're running @ Z-MAX today only 3 hrs away. 6 ??? rounds of qualifying in stock ?

Had chance to get out for a little look around and I have to say it is worse than I had expected. I started this thread as kind of a joke but I must say that there's nothing funny about it. We have seen lots of these before but this is as bad as some that were cat 2 we couldn't believe they were saying this is a 1. We still do not have power but as Mickey said thank God for generators. My understanding is that downtown is a mess and we were able to make it down to the river house and judging by the water marks in the garage we had 4-5 feet of water and we are the proud new owners of a rather large boat they came to rest in the yard. Everyone up north get ready she's a coming so be safe.

It's 6:40 PM in Old Bridge. We're getting some hard rain now,not much wind. There is a large tree limb hanging off my rear fence, damned if I know what tree it came off.We
put anything that could fly into the garage.I took my baby (the Dakota) out of the tent and parked it in the driveway with a cover and tarps over it.Put the Eagle wagon in the tent and secured the tent piping to the roof rack.Trailer generator on standby.Lastly, took down the flag and pole. Plenty of
flashlights and batteries.Best wishes to all in the path of this hurricane.

This is eerie. I live 2 blocks off the water (Newark Bay / Passaic River) in Bayonne, NJ. While coming home from helping my dad take important stuff our of his basement I passed Newark Airport.....not a single plane there.

Then I took a walk down to the waterfront park and the water was within a foot of the walkway. A 1,000 feet across the bay there is not a single container ship and all of the intermodal containers were stacked no more than two-high. Its the living version of that old saying: "The lights are on but nobody is home".

I hope all of you that have had it pass or are expecting it stay safe and get by with minimal damage. A portable generator will be your best friend for sure. When we had 2 hurricanes cross Florida back in 2004 we were without power for 7 days. We cooked our meals and showered in the motorhome, and had my work truck that has a Honda generator mounted over the cab parked by the front door of our house to power a few things inside.

Stay safe everyone! You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Hey Dan Moore, you're #1.

RIP Mark Graham
