Go for it! You might have to take that throttle stop off and go fast enough to get around 90 HP though.

I will be in columbus with the same parts I had at INDY. We will see if I get to race?
Andrew I am game for anything. If I were to get 50 hp I could run E/SA at #2970. I don't see all the crying over a little 281.

Good Luck Charley. Hope to see that killer under full power!

I would probably get my rear kicked even racing you in E, but I sure would like a shot at it.

Better than trying to race you in J anyway. You have the power to get to E all by yourself.

Just run her out a few hundered feet more. LOL.

James just put the 283 back in her and we can race all the time. I will even give you a small head start. Even if I beat you I can't pass tech.

Well, since this thread is about CJ engines, I do have a question

do the 428, 352, and 281 engines that are being run in stock use a conventional style intake manifold with a throttle body on top like the Drag Paks use ?

Dave,
The 352 and 428 use an intake and throttle body similar to the Drag Pak. The 281 uses the standard type fuel injection system.

The352 and 428 engines are old windsor SBF based pushrod motors which do use a conventional intake with a four barrel throttle body. The 281 is a mod-motor, overhead cam engine, but I think it uses the OEM style intake (composite/plastic?) with a newer style single hole TB.
