After 27 hrs we have power. Now after they clear all the downed trees we can take a ride and look around.

Some Complications that are happening as the days go by....

Prolonged power outages.....
No gas....stations closed and the ones open are swamped....
Looks like the oil embargo days of the '70s and I was in the gas station business than so I know it very well.....

Our phones are ringing off the hook with generator issues/breakdowns and inquirys..
Field men working day and night at sites all thruout our area...

Broken portables coming in with people hoping for quick repairs but that is not realistic.....

The Boy Scout Motto was "BE PREPARED" and this event shows how bad things can get.......

I did see a lot of Power company trucks working on my way home so that is a good sign as the highway I ride has been totally out of power all the way to work.....A heck of a lot of busineses...closed for days....

The devastation at the Jersey Shore and in NY is really bad....

I don't see any of the bad stuff that happened in New Orleans after Katrina....so you might want to think about that a little.....and draw your own conclusions as the saying goes......I know I have.....

here in the north east last year we went thru a week of simular issues ,,,no power trucks seen for days ,trees in the roads for days ,gas stations closed with signs saying out of gas ,neighbors came over to shower because they where not prepaired for a snow storm ,we dodged a bullet here in central ct ,,but ct shoreline took a hit as seen on the news, but have a complete neighbor hood burn down while being flooded in the middle of a hurricane in new york ,,you couldnt dream that this could happen !!!! just be thankful for what you have and help the people you can ,,,,,gmonde

Just got my cable back tonight so it's the first time I've seen the massive devastation to N.j. and N.Y.my prayers go out to all of the families who lost loved ones as well as personal property!! After seeing a segment on NBC about he destruction in Staten Island I couldn't help to think about the Panza Family[ Bob and Jerry] I hope that they are safe and well and that they and all of the residents in SI get the help they need to restore their way of life!!!

Just got Internet access back today at work...Phone service is still spotty.
we lost the roof on our main building there, and sustained major water damage.
Still have my part of the building intact, got lucky there.
No electricity or utilitys at home and the power co. says not till Sunday late!
Fortunately I prepped the motorhome ,and we've been living in there since Tuesday.

50 Hydro Crews from Quebec are assisting Vermont and New-York Edison Power company these total close to 150 linemen and 10 heavy mechanics(generators) also Ontario Hydro One has sent 150 linemen to New York to help in this emergency nice to see help getting to the people out there. I thought and prayers are with all of our cousins next door. CR

Katrina taught us (Mississippi Gulf Coast) to be thankful and appreciative for ALL that have come to help us recover and rebuild.
We are 7 years out and still working our recovery.

Be safe.
Help one another.
There are dangers long after the wind and rain (snow for some) are gone.

Lots of help from down south headed north. We remember what you did for us.
