I started this project a long time ago than changed my mind and it was going to be a street car and stopped working on it. Fast forward to 2013 and the Super Stock project is back on. We have been working on Modified Mustangs & Fords magazine Coyote powered 1966 Mustang project car and they want to do a few drag racing stories so they talked me into finishing the 1967 Fairlane. At this time the plan is to run a 390 with a C4, CalTracs and OpenTracker front suspension http://www.opentrackerracingproducts.com/
This is what I started with ![]() We installed the roll cage ![]() Stripped everything down to bare metal than epoxy primed with SPI black epoxy ![]() ![]() ![]() I finished the major bodywork ![]() OpenTracker front suspension http://www.opentrackerracingproducts.com/ ![]() I will be painting it SPI Red ![]()

We are building this kind of old school mini tubbed with leaf springs. It may not be the quickest but I think we will have some fun.

Rusty, are you going to cut the crossmember out that is between the shock towers?

My 68 is having major header issues. The Mustang ones will work if I cut the member. Many guys put a bolt in like the Mustang. They are much smaller and allow more room for the header. It will also aid in oil pan removal should you need to pull a rod. This is my observations only and I still haven't cut mine.

Rusty...Nice build. How big of a rear tire will you be able to run with the mini-tub? How wide was the strip you added? Thank you...MB.

We can fit a 10.5" with no problem. I need to measure again and figure out how big we can go and if there is a good tire in that size. We added a 2" strip if I remember correctly.
