It was bound to happen . Wonder if it was ever imagined as popular as it got.?

>>TV Ratings: ‘Street Outlaws’ Topples NHRA Broadcasts:

".....Everyone from hardcore drag racers that know better to those with just the slightest of interests in automobiles are tuning in, and this style of television program and the cars and personalities that comprise it are proving to be what car guys as a whole want to see, and even though the concept is the same — two cars, lined up alongside one another, first to the finish line wins — the show is world’s apart from the big stage of the NHRA Mello Yello series. That makes the million dollar question: how does NHRA drag racing engage and reach that market and triple or quadruple its television numbers with actual, legit drag racing?..."

Part of the WOW factor ..gone..
IMO-Racing a PRO fuel drag car to 1000 ft. means absolutely nothing to me and I've enjoyed drag racing for 48 years.
SO now what are they going to "evolve' in to, now that they are running just as FAST as they were 4 + years ago?

NHRA has been running 1000 ft. for over 4 years now and I ( and the fans) still can't compare /or relate to what they run to any Fuel cars, prior to the 1320 /1000 move.

Anytime I can view heads up door slammers like NHRA Pro Mod, or ADRL Pro Outlaw/Street, NMRA, etc. ..Well ,I can't get enough of that, especially live.

NHRA 's Pro stock is class that I fast forward to, on my DVR during the ESPN(2) coverage's of the National Events, as they actually a have clutch, shift gears and often are close ( and exciting) races. And they do not have to slam the brakes on ..skidding through the MPH lights.. risking everything to run a dial or index (?). That was never Drag racing's intention -ever- from its birth...

But alas.. they are also too often getting the Easter egg common looking..sheet metal and plastic.. from 50 feet..

For those wondering about Larry Morgan
Over on Comp Plus they asked him and he said something along the lines that he does not get any money from them and just buys parts from them. And as long as they keep making parts he will be ok. For now he has plenty of parts. You are not allowed to copy and paste or link their stories anymore or I would post it.

Oh, and maybe this has nothing to do with Ford's decision?

Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis

Chuck

It may not be the case, but you would be surprised at how one minded big Corporations and the likes can be behind the boardroom doors.

Is there good stuff in B.C.?
I don't doubt that at all. Don't know what you mean with the B. C.
