Super stock class is on Thursday now which I kind of expected after Etown did that with Stock but have never seen index classes run first round on Thursday before! First (and only) round for us Friday morning in front of all the friends and family..

I just saw that too.When I go to a National event,part of the reason is to have a mini vacation.If they started running first round on the first day of the event in Stock,I think I would definitely stop going except to the one that is an hour from my house.I don't know what the Super Gas and Super Comp racers think of this,but I think it really sucks.I guess it isn't so bad if you win first round,but I don't do that very often.

Thursday's schedule is going to be hectic running both Stk and SS. NHRA is trying, if this is what needs to be done to keep sportsman racers at national events, then so be it. Better than towing to the track and being sent home if it rains like houston, or still having a boatload of cars to race after sunday. Remember eliminations on tuesday a couple of years ago?

No offense to you rog, but i race in Stock elim. & what NHRA did to us at Etown was terrible.
Stk- tt1
SC- tt1
Stk tt2
Then after that prob SS,SG then Stk Class rd.1
I was just getting done with my first time run & had to do fuel check & heard them call Stock rd.2 back to the lanes.
They did change the run schedule after the Etown race. I think they got a lot of angry racers on that run schedule.

It was: Stk, SC, SS, SG, then back to Stk. at the next couple of races that followed Etown.

But i think as long as they get 2 time runs in, First Rd on Thursday wouldn't be horrible.
Now that it's October you really can't send 165 mph cars down the track if the sun is down. I seen lots of accidents at M.G. in the past once the sun was down.
So maybe that is NHRA's thinking to run 1st rd. on Thursday, no offense SC & SG racers.
