Alright I read in another topic and on multiple dragracecentral.com posts that Fletcher had a chance to triple up at Pomona... was he actually driving 3 cars? Crew chief on the 3rd? Always thought you were only allowed to enter 2 classes so this caught my eye. To bad it didn't happen.. would be quite the accomplishment. Not that he doesn't already have a long list..

Dan was driving Comp/Superstock, his stocker was being driven by Michael, who almost won. That would be the Triple...

Toby, would one have to own all three cars and be driving two to complete the triple up?
Just curious. It was strange seeing the white whale last weekend without you in it. Hope all is well. |

I agree, it was strange seeing pictures of your car there without you behind the wheel. I very much miss the videos and such that you have done. Good luck to you and hope to see you at Pacific this year or maybe Bremerton???

No, one would have to be driving all three cars regardless of who owns the cars. Since you can't drive three cars in NHRA competition, a triple is not possible, IMO.
When they talk about the 28 doubles that have happened in NHRA, the same driver was driving both cars. http://nhra.com/story/2013/8/4/fletc...-ties-glidden/ So to have a triple, you would need to be driving all three cars. I suppose you could have an owner double or triple, but I don't think they keep track of those. |

I think the "triple" was a potential third Winternationals win in either or both of the categories he's already won the Winternationals in twice - Super Stock and Comp. If he'd won both this year, it would be a double-triple, but he came up a round short in both.
Perhaps Alan can sort this one out. |

Jacob Elrod pulled a triple at Grand Bend the other year on one of those occasions where they let sportsman racers enter one of the bracket classes in addition to two Pro-Am classes.
