Those of you who didn't come are missing a great time. It's been a lot of fun to run our cars wide open without fear of getting horsepower.

Well I have had a wonderful birthday today! After a great day of racing, we went up to eat some of the great vittles provided by Loose Rocker. And then everyone starts singing "Happy Birthday" to me! My husband had been planning this for months. And Ken Miele was in on it, too, although he wasn't able to be here. Thanks everyone! Here is a picture of one of the 5 identical cakes provided by Jeff McKinney's catering service:

I wish someone would have told me about the surprise and maybe I would have at least brushed my hair!

I have a few more pics I took today that I will post tonight and tomorrow. We had 2 qualifying runs today and then the Combo race. We got beat in the first round, but then were able to drink and cook a little. For appetizers before dinner, we had some of Jimmy Hidalgo's great deer sausage made from KY deer. It was great!!

The combo I believe was won by Mr. Becker with Bob Harrison running it up. I was eating birthday cake, so I didn't actually see them go down the track. Please correct me if I am wrong.

That's correct Robbie Becker won the combo!!! Way to go Rob!!

Definitely a longer day, but well worth it. A lot of great action and we're so glad the sun finally came out. Met a few more new faces from the classracer.com nation today. How Ed Carpenter managed to shift his Chevy II with bandaged and braced fingers on his right hand is beyond me, but he got it done. The combo had some really tight racing round after round. We bought our share of souvenir(?) shirts and other items. Heading out for food and brew then back to the hotel. Big finale tomorrow,, looking forward to it.
