Default Who really is #1 U/SA

I see that there are several threads about who the fastest / quickest in a couple of different classes. This question does not necessarily pertain to who is racing today, but of all time.

Of all the U/SA cars who is the quickest. There are a lot to choose from. Some of them have held back for years while others just added HP every now and then. Some have been accused of not complying with the rules. Some go real fast and then run away to their natural class or even disappear.

I know that when a car can go ridiculously fast it is usually a U/SA classes vehicle. I've even seen a U/SA car go right through the water box, stage with wet 9"s, and then become #1 qualifier at a National Event.

There are a lot of racers out there who have been around a long time and can recall other U/SA cars that really flew. Here are some of the names that I have spoken to over the years. In no particular order:

Al Gentzel
Dick Moreland
Ray Remmington
Lloyd Mackay
Clayton Wright
Mike Senia
Paul Wong
Gary Summers
Bob Dennis
Jack McCarthy
Daran Summerton
David Koopman
Jonathan Tarrance
Bob Shaw
Ray Valpreda
Bill Koski
Bruce Fulper
Roy Dean
Billy Nees

I know I have missed some, but what do you all think. Some of these guys are professional baggers of sand. Who is the #1 U/SA?

Thank you JWagner, I remember Darwin, Richard and Harry, but couldn't remember them about 11:28 AM this morning. I don't know Skip Lisell.

Who is the fastest, I know Shaw went 12.90's a couple of years back, and Mackay had a fast Buick in the 13 0's. Bob Dennis was very fast. Senia was in the 13's, But who is the fastest and what did they run.

I really don't know who is the fastest car, but that number nine guy...Bob Dennis definitely had the most bogus U/sa ever. A big thank you to billy nees for his help in removing "seat belt Bob" from the U/sa playground. As a side note Ron, perhaps you are too young but you omitted Jim Deeter from the list.He was bad asz until Nhra refactored him .M.J.

The Late Mike Smith was probably the most successful with two national event wins and a strong divisional record including a SuperStock Nats win in the former Dick Moreland wagon now Claytons.Al Genzel's car run by the late Ray Valpreda was best engineered if possable for a U/SA.
