Just been looking over some of the past Hemi Shootout photo albums and all the cars look immaculate, (as you would expect), but I got to wondering which car would you guys say is the top car in the class. Not the fastest or the best looking paint scheme or even the car with the most wins, but overall appearance, engineering, performance, history, and all other criteria you would use to judge the top overall car in this class in terms of the most desired if you were going to buy one? As if most of us could! LOL! Anyhow, just an entertaining way to pass the time before the Super Bowl. Good Luck to everyone in 2015!

Prob won't be raced much longer, along with some others. Joe Tueton said in a recent interview that the cars are just too valuable to keep racing them, and that some guys have already begun building replacements.

Absolutely! The historical aspect of the class is umatched as far as I am concerned. I don't think Big Joe intends to stop racing his cars either. But, watching Bucky Hess go into the wall at the Dutch Classic has to make some guys think about it. I mean, there will never be another era in which cars like these will be built again! (As originals, that is.)

Only two original cars were raced last year. Chuck's and Harold Leiter. The other 36 SS/AH cars that made passes in NHRA last year were clones. BTW the Comella's get my vote also.

I knew Jim Pancake and Dave Raybourn were running BO LO cars sometimes. Are they still campaigning any of the originals?

I did not know that! I had guessed that at least half were factory cars. Thanks for that info.
