Default Difference in scales at tracks in Div 3

How much difference is there in the scales at the different tracks in Division 3?

Most tracks with Divisionals do a pretty good job with this. It is true scales can vary a bit here and there and occassionally there can be one so far off, they have to bring a service in to correct it. There is no real way to hang a number on the differences in advance if that is what you are looking for. Make sure you have some legal ballast to adjust up or down a bit and you will be fine. Everyone works off of the same scales so if they are light or heavy a wee bit, racers just tend to adjust. The biggest swings I have seen the last few years have been at some tracks on windy days. Even with that, the tech guys get creative and block the wind with a sheet of plywood or sometimes have you weight the car facing a different direction to get a better reading.

The worst scales in div 3 were at Stanton, Michigan , almost 40 lbs light. They no longer host a points meet. Between Indy, BG and Columbus there might be a 10 lb. difference. M.J.

To be safe be ready to adjust up or down 40 lb. Remember you can be to heavy for a class or to light. Its always best to weigh and adjust before the first run.
