Truthfully, it may be a disadvantage to do it, considering everything can be controlled through the computer, I just want one less thing to tune, lol.

Interesting response, I would have thought he would have said no. For on track consistency, I would think you would want to keep the tune in the controller. Good Luck !

And I may keep it, but at least I now know what my options are. And truthfully, on a Ford, a mvb is not far away from just being a shift kit.

Yes, I was going to do that anyway. Already have the B&M linkage kit mounted in the trans

I installed a Baumann AODE shift kit in my 95 GT and what a difference it made.

That trans shifts dead on the same point every run now.
Of course I am using a stock converter so I do not know if that makes any difference, but I am very pleased with that AODE.

Now that I know that a MVB is legal in PS, that opens up more possibilities.

Alan, have you tried adjusting shift points and line pressure in your tune? I am still on the fence of doing a manual valve body, or using the computer. The Bauman kit is probably the best bolt in "shift kit" for these trannies, and they make a great aftermarket controller also, but if I am going to stay computer controlled, I will used the tried and true "Jerry-Mod" on the valvebody. I actually have all of the J-Mod upgrades sitting here ready to put in the trans, and the Moates Quarterhorse and Binary Editor I'm using for tuning will change any shift function I want it too, so I may just go that way first and see how it acts.
Next step for me is to plop down the $1000 for a multi disc lock up convertor......

I have a 100% factory tune in my car. I have never hooked up anything to the factory ecu.
After I installed the Baumann kit it now shifts @ 5200 every run.
Plus, I can still manually shift it if I want. ( at any rpm)
I just need a ratchet shifter to make it safer to hit the gears.

In a some what related note (or maybe it's not)..this is what I found out about the 94-95 Mustangs.

You might want to check your throttle body opening with the gas pedal all the way to the floor.

My TB would not open up 100% until I removed the carpet and sound deadener under the pedal.

Before, it was like 90 % opened and my car was inconsistent.
I removed the carpet under it and now it's 100% opened every time I stab the pedal.

Whether or not having inconsistent throttle blade openings affected the shift points I do not know, but I feel confident having the blade opened 100% every run has helped the computer in regards to the electronic shift points.

Great info! While checking, did you check your TPS sensor to make certain it was set correctly?
Time for you to grab a tuner for that thing, lol.
