Just a reminder, 2013 U.S. Nats heads up stock final, neither car was weighed or fuel checked. Don't believe either would have been DQ'd, but no effort to maintain some integrity in class racing is not what we expect from officials when we pay the dues and entry fees to race.

Both me and Stevie Wann were sitting in line after a Qualifier in Vegas and watched a gentleman drive right past us and fuel check . When it was brought to the attention of the officials it was a shoulder shrug and a comment of well if you don't want to weigh you don't have too .... 😲

A few years ago, I tried to bypass the long line (thirty cars long) at the scales when I did not improve my time, I was stopped, brought back and made to scale (but I did get put right on them immediately). I told them that I did not improve and the reply was "it doesn't matter, you HAVE to scale". This was 2003 at a Division 1 race.

In D2 both NHRA and IHRA you don't have to scale again if your Q pass did not improve over a previous one that you did scale and do fuel check for. been that way forever as far as I can remember.

How do the guys at the scale or fuel check know if a car that drives past improved on his qualifying time or not?

Div 3 we usually tell them we did not improve-generally they will wave you on unless they got the word that everybody will weigh or do fuel check-- if you improved your number is on a list--- if you did not weigh or do fuel check you will be notified and warned ---FED 387
