My son and I are building a 67 Chevy ll It has a 283 w/2bl it has a PG w208 low gear with 28" tires. my question is what rear end ratio should we use. It will be 1/8 mile only. Also if we decide later to go with a 200 3 speed will it make any difference in the rear end gear ratio? Thank You Kenney Kelley

figure it with this formula MPH X Gear ratio X 336 divided by tire height = RPM
Allow 8-10 % for converter slippage. I say 1/8 you could go ahead with 6.14, most likely use same with glide or 3 speed, just shift quick with 3 speed. Mike Taylor 3601 |
