I would like to personally thank everyone for all the prayers, good wishes, and friendship that have been expressed toward me and my family. I guess it takes a situation like this to make one realize just what life is about. I should not be alive. Obviously I had Devine Intervention. I have been overwhelmed several times by the support I got and now is one of those times. From a pleasant trip home after the Gators in West Florida to today seems like a month or two. Cruising at 70 MPH on a beautiful cool early afternoon on I10 and the Perfect Storm. Left lane, blew the left front tire, narrow road shoulder, and down a steep incline into the woods. Something hit me in the face and bent me over the armrest into the center of the cab. I think I ran about a 12 second et with me in that position before it stopped. Not official because I didn't cross the scales, but the motor home weighs 45000 lbs and the trailer with 2 cars etc is 18000 lbs. Finally stopped and I was alive. Shocking. Cab crushed my left shoulder down, but did not break anything. Concerned citizens called 911, Deputy first on the scene, then the Fireman. Took about an hour to cut me out. When I got pulled out, to everyone's surprise, me mostly, I stood and it did not hurt. After a moment of getting stable, along with a few fireman I walked out of the woods, and up to the highway. A Miracle. I walked to the gurney and proceeded to bleed all over it while talking to the ambulance EMT guys and the helicopter EMT and pilot who had been on the scene a while. Went by ambulance to local emergency hospital, but was transferred to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. Great people. Flew home in a medical aircraft Wednesday, spent the day in local clinics doing scans, x ray etc. I don't think there are any hidden aftereffects so I just have to recover. Couple broken ribs, lots of cuts and bruises, some stitches and a few other things which are mostly minor. Sorry for the detail, but my two daughters, both licensed therapist told me to talk about as I am reliving it constantly. The friendship of the racing community has been unbelievable. This family along with the racing family will be here forever. Thank you.

Hey Jeff, I don't know if you remember what I said to you right before you left the track, but I told you to "be safe". In light of all the happened, I'm glad you were safe. Looking forward to seeing you soon at the races and having a beer. Take care of yourself!

Jeff
Have always been a huge fan of yours and love your posts on here. God was not ready to take you home that day. He still has some special projects for you to do. Added you to our prayer chain at church here in Houston, you have 300 back sliding Baptists praying for you..LOL |

Jeff, I also had you on the prayer list at my church. You had God travelling with you, my friend, no doubt about that. Looking at those pictures just makes my stomach turn. It is truly a miracle that you survived. God had his hand in the whole thing by Carolyn making the decision to stay home this year too. Times like this really bring home the fact that God is in control. Praise Him that you are going to be o.k. And please remind my son that this is why I worry when he's on the road!
