Ok here's what went down a Cordova this weekend
Saturday 28 cars Joe Bommarito was #1 Qualifier @8.903 The semi's were were Charlie Hamma defeating Jarod Bowman And Jeremy Demers over Ben Baer. In the final it was Jeremy Demers over Charlie Hamma. The cool part was that Jeremy's Dad Larry Demers won the quick16 race the same night and the had their first ever Father & Son victory lane photo shoot! That is some cool stuff. ![]() Ok Sunday the Demers left at ~06:00 AM for Norwalk, Pat Fitzpatrick's ride ate a camshaft so he too headed home Saturday night as did Jeff Sperling with a broken valve spring And Ed Rudeck's little red corvette had not one but two new holes in his engine block. Dennis Ridgeway also beat feet elsewhere? So with the attrition and the arrival of Chris James we had 21 cars show up for first round. Benny da Woolf qualified numero uno with an 8.907 and (unlike Joe) he got a first round bye. The semi's came down Jim Glossen vs Gentleman Jim Gerkaris with Mr. Glossen parlaying a better light(.014 vs .021) combined with an 8.92 vs 8.93 to Stop Gerkaris. With Chris Lancaster posting an 8.94 on his bye run to set up the final with Jim having Lane choice over Da Bomber. But young Mr. Lancaster would not be denied as his .005 light advantage and another 8.94 were enough to push Jimmy to take the stripe and go to the the dark side of the index as he posted an 8.89............(wait for it).......... With a ...........friggen ......9 that's right folks 8.899! Congratulations to Chris "da Bomber" Lancaster ![]()
