Don was a good friend of my friend/early mentor, Ron Sanders. I heard some funny stories. When he heard I was racing, he sought me out at an IHRA event we were both participating in, to introduce himself and wish me luck.

Decent human being. We've lost a good one.

I was lucky enough to have known "The Don" since the very early 70's. He became a great friend over the years and a tremendous source of humor. Always a character and never a dull moment. Glad that Soupy and I flew down a couple of weeks ago to see him. Linda, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I will miss him. RIP, my friend.

Just saw the news of Don's passing,a real kick in the gut.Never heard a bad word about him or from him and he made the racing experience that much better.

I agree, Ron. "Attitude". He could bust 'em with the best of them.
Don drove a Pepsi truck. He could make you feel 1/2" tall if you were drinking a Coke.
After the Grove ,we always had to go to Pizza Hut because it was owned by the same corp. as Pepsi.Mike,Terry,Ray Valpreda,Ray Flacco, and now Don.Its getting lonely out here.

Besides racing with him here in Div.1 me and Billie went to Gainesville twice and met him there. The Don was always good for a laugh or two. RIP.

Donnie will be missed by all who knew him. He ran out of our shop in Vineland for many years before him and Linda headed South to Florida and we would see him when he came up for the Dutch every few years. He always had a great sense of humor and would always bust the waitress chops when we went to lunch every Saturday at a little Greek place called the Olympia cause they only served "Coke" products and not Pepsi. I'm glad that my Dad was able to get down to Florida in Feb. to see him and spent the day with him and Linda. RIP Don, you will be missed.
