Blankets are a viable option, Jegs sells them for a little over 100 bucks although the blanket SFI life is only two years.....I have seen that th 200 shield and between my shifter and bracket,my brace, and my floor it looks like a royal pain to attach.....

Actually I've ran shields on stock tunnels and they will clear it's just a pain to deal with , when pulling trans in and out .

For sub 10.00 second cars don't forget the SFI 29.1 flex plate.
I think I will take all of the different SFI numbers that I have to have on my car and buy a lottery ticket with those same SFI numbers. That should be a safe bet. |

Hey Larry, you got a great idea. Any money left over will buy some gas.

Does anyone use the CSR shield option?
https://www.summitracing.com/int/par...-837/overview/ I remember trans builder Hutch on Yellow Bullet was going to try to manufacture one as well...he might be more motivated now that this new rule comes into effect..

I'm a Glide guy but I feel that the SFI case is well worth the extra cost once in install one. It is so much easier to access the top bellhousing bolts and deal with the dipstick during installation.

Yes, I tried to phone the company (which in located in Florida I think) to directly order a shield and they were delayed quite a bit with production due to a lack of material. I am unsure how they are doing today.
I ended up buying a used CSR shield locally and it actually fit well on my TH-400 with a stock Monte floor. The trans was already out which made the install much better. I also used a Lokar flexible dipstick (which can have the certified locking end) which helped a lot and have also "hole sawed" some bellhousing acess holes (with covers in the firewall) to make installing the bellhousing bolts much easier.. I am just a bracket guy but hopefully this can help other guys..

Hey guys, does anyone have connections with a good carbon fibre supplier? Hutch would make them if he could get a good source, he does great trans work you can check it out at YellowBullet..
I'm very aware and forecasted this year's ago. The problem is the carbon fiber people have worn me the heck out. I'm not sure what to do at this point. Hutch
