Hello,
I am looking to for a competitive combo and was wondering if anyone has ever tried the GTO in super stock.

No. It is not very desirable in super stock because of the shipping weight and high hp rating for the engine if running in straight super stock. If run it GT it would still be a heavy car because of the shipping weight regardless of which motor was in it.
