I agree Billy......I tried to get NHRA to do that 150# on the seat spring deal back in around 1986. It fell on deaf ears ! Now look at what we have. Expensive cams, expensive lifters, and solid lifters where hydraulics should be. The higher RPM's call for more expensive everything else. Like I said before. NHRA STOCK Elim. DIED back in 1985 ! Its a Jr. Super Stock today.

[QUOTE=Greg Hill; NHRA needs to be more knowledgeable about these older combinations, there are still a couple of guys around that know and they should use their knowledge to keep from making these mistakes.
LOL.......Thanks for the chuckle. Most of the old guys that knew this stuff have either retired, gotten PO'ed and quit, or died ! The "King Tutts" at NHRA would not listen anyway ! |

You are correct Jack.....The 58-61 Turbo glides slipped my old worn out mind for a moment. Its been a while but maybe someone can remember if the 348's were the ones with the turbo glides as an option. Not sure about the 283's. Like I said its been awhile.
