Maurice I think you are a tad low---- probably like closer to $30 thousand
- along with at least a year wait time--and then you are not going to get the whole loaf probably less a slice---he is going to protect his regular customers who have been with him all along--FED 387 |

Aluminum heads are what a group of us petitioned NHRA for 8 years or so ago. We were turned down. NHRA now allow the aluminum head but they are hard to find. The main reason was the heads are more repairable and easier for the head porter to work on. No one wants to work on old cast iron heads anymore! Plus us old guys have a hard time lifting the iron heads on and off the block.

Dyno ---since you have and race a Hemi would you care to share with the audience your best estimate for what a good set of complete race ready heads would cost--- not talking about pistons or intake manifold nor headers to work with the revised cylinder heads-- FED 387

My guess was $25,000 but if Charlie Westcott still does Hemi heads and engines it's closer to at least 30k.

I'm pretty sure at some point during the original presentation, Darin said a truly competitive Hemi Challenge engine would cost you around $100K. I'd guess heads, intake, and carburetors are more than half that.

I was under the impression that they cost 30k or very close to that ready to bolt on. The intake is 5k and the cam is 1550. A new set of 18-19 inch headers is 6k also

If anyone is looking for a set or 2 of the Edelbrock heads message me or get in touch with Glenn Barnett on Facebook. Barnett has several. They also have them listed on Ebay.
